Outloud Junior

Ages 12 & under, friends, and allies.

The future looks bright to a confident child

The Outloud Junior Group is made for LGBTQ youth 12 and under so they can explore their own identity in a safe place.

Our Juniors will do some of the same things as the older group while ensuring their younger needs are met too.

The kids play games, read positive stories, and interact with other LGBTQ kids, teens, and adults.

The idea is to become more comfortable with themselves and their peers through play-based interactions.

Outloud Junior has grown with excellent leaders, some of whom are teens, and some adult volunteers. The leaders have a passion for children and want to make their LGBTQ journey the best it can be.

We use sources like ISMSS, The Pride Center of Edmonton, ISCWR, pflag, and many others to connect children and their families to the resources that they need.

Starting an hour earlier than Outloud Youth, a typical Junior meeting starts with introductions, including everyone’s preferred name and pronouns. There are planned activities that are LGBTQ positive including games, questions and answers, movies, and guest speakers.

Juniors and Youth can earn Outloud “I AM LOVED” Dog Tags with attendance. Groups may also share pizza and age-appropriate games for sharing and support.

Parents and guardians are welcome and can join the fun or go to the discussion room with other adults.

There is no charge for the program but donations are appreciated.
