It is with much sadness that we share that the Board of Directors of Outloud has made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s St. Albert Pride event. While we were very much looking forward to coming together as a community, based on the rising COVID numbers and the current pressure on our healthcare system, we felt that this was the responsible decision at this time. Our healthcare workers have worked tirelessly over the past year and a half and are asking for the community’s help to get COVID under control.

The safety of our community has always been a primary concern for Outloud and this decision was made with that consideration at the forefront. It is important to us that Pride be an event where everyone feels safe and included, and given the current situation in our province, we did not feel like that was realistically possible at this time.

We would like to thank all the volunteers and vendors who had signed up to be part of this event. Over the coming days, we will be sharing links through social media and on our website (www.outloudstalbert.ca) to those vendors who had planned to be in attendance. We would encourage people to check out these vendors and, if possible, offer them your support through thanks or a purchase. Our community partners help make Pride possible and we know that this decision impacts them as well.

Our hope is that Pride will return in the Spring of 2022. Stay safe everyone, get vaccinated, and we look forward to seeing you all for Pride as soon as it safe to do so once again.
